My Holistic Atmosphere

I believe in living a stress-free Holistic lifestyle. It helps me manage and heal my mind, body, and spirit. I was diagnosed with clinical depression and anxiety; toxic friends and ex-boyfriends, intense family issues, and bullying. I had to deal with taking medication and therapy just to take the edge off. But, nothing worked. The more I tried to take control of my emotions, the harder life felt.

Holistic is defined as "relating to or concerned with wholes or with complete systems rather than with the analysis of, treatment of, or dissection into parts holistic medicine attempts to treat both the mind and the body." In short, rather than taking pills or medication to seek optimal health, you heal yourself using spiritual methods using your mind, body, and spirit. This is my personal way of healing myself from depression and anxiety. I am not saying you should throw out your medication, or following my steps to deal with depression. If you are looking to incorporate a holistic lifestyle into your daily health routine, then there are many steps you can take to achieve optimal holistic health.

  • Create a holistic space for yourself: add special candles, incents, a salt lamp, etc. any objects that make you feel comfortable and at peace in your own space.
  • Set aside meditation time to help you calm your mind, release negative energy, and practice effective breathing techniques.
  • Invest in an aromatherapy diffuser and oils: aromatherapy helps balance and elevate your mood. There are many affordable options on amazon and your local health store.
  • Journaling helps you release a lot of emotions. Don't think about what to write about; just sit, relax, and just write. Don't stress out about grammar, spelling, or punctuation. This is your words, your personal journal. Just keep writing until you feel calm and relieved.
