I had the great opportunity to join the Birchbox Book Club! I love reading and learning about anything that catches my interest. July's book for the Birchbox Book Club was The Bridesmaids: True Tales Of Love, Envy, Loyalty, and Terrible Dresses by Eimear Lynch. Fits perfectly in the theme of weddings in July.
I absolutely love this book. I learned so much from the people Eimear Lynch interviewed as their role of Bridesmaid or Maid of Honor. I was a bridesmaid myself for my aunt's wedding, and from personal experience... it was terrible. I was forced in to the bridesmaid role, my cousin chopped off half of my hair and thought it was adorable, I developed acne from the cheap makeup, and to top it all of: I was completely pissed off that I looked like a boy, while everyone else looked great on my aunt's wedding day.
This book definitely put me at ease that I am not the only one who experienced the trials of being a bridesmaid. I also had the pleasure of speaking to Eimear Lynch on twitter. This is a great choice for Birchbox book of the month.
The Bridesmaids: True Tales Of Love, Envy, Loyalty, and Terrible Dresses by Eimear Lynch
The Bridesmaids: True Tales Of Love, Envy, Loyalty, and Terrible Dresses is a series of over 80 interviews conducted by Eimar Lynch. Sharing their experience as a bridesmaid or maid of honor. Each story gives you a sneak background peak of what happens during the bride's big day.
PROS: I love this book! I love learning what other people felt as a bridemaid or maid of honor. I don't feel so alone about my past experience. I definitely love the story called The Meddler. It is the kind of story I believe many women can relate to.
CON: I did not experience any cons :)
RECOMMENDATIONS: I would recommend The Bridesmaids: True Tales Of Love, Envy, Loyalty, and Terrible Dresses by Eimear Lynch to all brides, bridemaids, maid of honors, and all participants in weddings. It is a great guide of life experiences, as well as the dos and donts during a wedding.
